National Hospital Week 2019
The Batangas Medical Center celebrated this year’s National Hospital Week on August 5-9, 2019. It was a fully-loaded week, concluded by the roaring success of the Mr. & Ms. Batangas Medical Center pageant.
The week commenced with the employees gathering at the Flag Ceremony on August 5 to witness the launch of the environment-friendly projects spearheaded by the Socials, Sports, Health & Wellness Committee like the Bike-to-Work Project and the Plastic Goes to Scrap-Everyday is Tumbler Day. A tree-planting activity was supposed to be included in the day’s activity but due to heavy rains, it was scheduled for another day.
The Bike-to-Work project is in support of the Physical and Mental Illness Program, where able employees would go to work using their bicycles on Fridays. It also aims to support the Clean Air Act by minimizing the use of fuel thereby lessening the harmful pollutants affecting the environment. This program will also help promote and maintain a healthy lifestyle among the employees which can result to a positive work productivity.
In line with the National TB Control Program's priority interventions to achieve the PhilSTEP1 vision of a TB Free Philippines by 2035, the Batangas Medical Center in partnership with Family Health International (FHI360) - TB Innovations and Health Systems Strengthening Project, Global Fund-ACCESS TB Project, Center for Health Development IV-A, Batangas Provincial Health Office, and Batangas City Health Office will have its full implementation of a strategy entitled "Kumusta Ba-Ga?" - an intensified TB Case finding model utilizing Digital X-ray with computer-assisted Chest X-ray reading.
Dr. Amor Banuelos-Calayan, a bonafide member of the Management Committee as the Director for Nursing will be representing the Batangas Medical Center and the only hospital representative in the Philippines is invited in the World Nursing Education and Evidence Based Practice Conference on April 22-23,2019 at Dubai, UAE.
PSP Anatomic and Clinical Residents In-Service Examinations
The real strength of the training program is rooted in the residents themselves. We are proud to have a group of Medical Officers with a wide variety of backgrounds, impressive accomplishments, and future interests who are dedicated to learning and research in the field of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
This institution's Combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency Training Program continues to play an active role in identifying areas of needed change in working collaboratively, as a responsive administration, towards quality improvement and maximizing clinical laboratory and educational goals for its trainees.

Hospital launches BatMC Hymn
by Dr. Maria Regina Atienza - Blando
For more than 90 years, Batangas Medical Center never had an official hymn to call its own. As part of its kick-off activities toward its one-hundredth year, the institution, through the SSHW Committee, held a contest for its employees to submit an original composition which can be the hospital's official hymn. Just recently, an original piece entitled "Balaraw", written and arranged by Mr. Melvin de Guzman of PETRO office and Mr. Benedict Landicho from the Nursing Service, was judged and chosen to be BatMC's official hymn. On June 24, 2019, the new hymn was launched during the Flag Ceremony, as beautifully interpreted by the BatMC Chorale. The ceremony was led by no other than the Chief of Hospital, Dr. Ramoncito Magnaye, together with Dr. Teresita Risalyn Villanueva, PETRO Chief, and other distinguished Unit and Department Heads.
